At this point in our game development’s progress, Isthmus Studios has worked on creating many different systems to allow our game to function, we have created a strong narrative to drive the player through the game, and we have created quality content to help set the scene for our game. All of these things couldn’t have been accomplished without a strong team dynamic.

Project Nautilus and the Isthmus Studios team have both made amazing progress from the beginning of team expansion to now. We have reached the point in the game development process where we are challenging Alpha. Isthmus Studios have overcome many roadbumps including getting all members on the team to follow the original pipeline created by the leads, as well as poor communication cross disciplines.

When first getting placed on the Isthmus Studios team, it was a bit of a challenge to change my work dynamic from my last game team. As a member of Isthmus Studios, I have created new habits that are important within the pipeline of our team. I have learned to submit content to the team within the frame of time leads want to assess work, log hours that fit within the teams dynamics, and learn from difficult scenarios in which require multiple different disciplines to discuss. These are things that not only I feel like I have learned and adapted to, but also the rest of the new members of the team.

Communication was a huge struggle for many people on the team when Isthmus Studios first expanded. Not only were there more people within each discipline, but there were more people that had to communicate cross discipline in order to come as far as we have. The people amongst Isthmus Studios had to learn how to tackle different groups every week. Since not everyone was in the loop during all these separate groups, communication often got lost and wasn’t relayed properly to help diminish all confusion on the team. To solve this large issue, Isthmus Studios decided to only break the team up into two large groups instead of five or six smaller groups. This has helped to keep the communication flowing amongst all members of the team.

Isthmus Studios has worked hard to challenge Alpha. We as a team have created quality content, overcome individual struggles, and overcome group dynamic changes that weren’t working for our team. The systems that allow our game to function, the strong narrative members on our team worked to create, and the art content we have created for Project Nautilus are all proof that Isthmus Studios has created a strong group dynamic.
